My thoughts about the ESC 2012
My second heroine of the night besides Loreen.
Lots of the watchers probably aren’t aware of the current situation in Azerbaijan. The moderators couln’t help it but smile away the statement of our comedienne, Anke Engelke. She made a clear yet friendly statement during the voting towards the totalitarian regime of Azerbaijan, being the only person at the show giving the opposition of the country a voice.
»Tonight, nobody could vote for their own country, but it is good to be able to vote and it is good to have a choice. Good luck on your journey Azerbaijan, Europe is watching you.«
Danke, Anke!
Adding that Graham Norton directly called out the human rights situation towards the end of the show. And he was actually there.
:D Anke was a wonderful host and far more entertaining than ‘Smug Manchild Douche’ ‘Some Yoke who thinks she’s Penelope Cruz’ and a lawyer. HA, an Azeri lawyer? Justice in Azerbaijan? Please.
Ooh, I completely missed this when it happened. Very sharply worded indeed…
Yes
and I wish the vote fixing issue with Ireland was sorted out too.Mostly reblogging for Book to see. Awesome.
Yep. Anke is pretty great.
